Kenneth Russell Burghy

Kenneth Russell Burghy, 83, of Thornville, died at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born March 26, 1940, in Morristown, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth Leroy and Virginia Lucille (Russell) Burghy. Kenneth was a Christian and a veteran of the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country for thirty one years and retiring as a Master Sargent from the AIG March 24, 2000.  Kenneth deeply loved his family and enjoyed caring for his many animals who he treated as family members as well.

He is survived by  his children, three daughters, Jennifer Brown, Marina Burghy, and Danielle (Paul) Flack; one son, Bret (Tamara) Suver; nine grandchildren, Ethan Brown, Brandon (Taylor) Brown, Justin Flack, John Flack, and Jackson Flack,  Hannah (Dillon) Ramey, Austin Suver and Zackary Suver; five great grandchildren, Lawson Brown, Findlay Brown, Quincy Brown, Liam Ramey, and baby Ramey on the way; three sisters, Glenna Hatcher, Christy (Leroy) Starcher, Famie (Joe) Doty; one brother, John (Donna) Burghy; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his infant son, Daniel Burghy; a sister, Linda Bishop; and a son-in-law Michael Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at another date at the convenience of the family.

A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE
