Kenneth (Gabby) Hayes

Kenneth Earl "Gabby" Hayes, 80, of Zanesville, died at 4:30 P.M. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Genesis Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born December 12, 1934 in Adamsville, a son of the late Leo and Mildred Havens Hayes. He worked for Burnham Corporation, Rittberger Meats, Ohio Ferro Alloy, Rockwell International, Connie Kalitta Air, Rickenbacker Air Force Base and finally STS. Kenneth was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the Eagles # 302. Surviving are his children, Wilmajean Hayes, Norma (Robert) Mock, Marcus( Marsha Burkett) Hayes, Brian (Marge) Hayes, Berneice (William) Minner, Berndetta (Mark Church) Paxson, Kendra (Shane) Abbott and Tina (Telly) Morrison; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bernard (Rita) Hayes, Gerald (Diane) Hayes, Warren Hayes, Leo Hayes Jr., Shelby (Martin) Sheck, Loretta (Keith) Rueckert and Carolyn Allen and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hayes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Bernice Bash Hayes, who died November 23, 2014; a granddaughter, Mia Noel Paxson; brothers and sisters, Loren Hayes, Wayne Hayes, Delores Brewer, Dale Hayes and Lewis Hayes. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Stephen J. Harrop officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors being provided by the United States Air Force in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville.
