Kenneth Roberts

Kenneth W. (Kenny) Roberts, 89, of Zanesville died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born November 28, 1915 in Zanesville, a son of the late Louis F. & Sarah Olive Ackerman Roberts. He retired as an Engineer for Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 38 years of service. Kenny graduated from Lash High School class of 1933 and attended Market Street Baptist Church, ,was a member of Masonic Lodge of Amity # 5, member of The Valley of Cambridge of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons. Kenneth played for many different musical organizations through the years , but he especially enjoyed playing in the Aladdin Shrine Band. He also enjoyed playing with several musical groups in Florida. Surviving are his wife, Margaret ( Peggy ) Glick Roberts, whom he married September 15, 1963, a daughter, Martha K. ( Roland) Jones of Zanesville, a step-son, Gary L. ( Michelle ) Uhrick of Lewis Center, Ohio a daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Roberts of Pickerington, nine grandchildren, Wayne Roberts Jr. , Kimberly ( Charles) Rhoades, Debbie (Dan) Russell, Jeff Adams, Darren Roberts, Jodi (Hal) Steppe, Austin Uhrick, Brandon McCargish and Kate Uhrick, four great grandchildren, Kenny Rhoades, Josh Adams, Tim Knezovich and Samuel Steppe. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, C. Wayne Roberts, two brothers, Louis and Paul Roberts. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where Lodge of Amity # 5 will hold masonic services at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 with Rev. D. Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association.
