Kenneth L. Winland Sr., 85, of South Zanesville, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born April 26, 1923, in Mount Perry, Ohio, a son of the late Walter Sr. and Rosella Barnett Winland. He retired as a security guard for Armco Steel, was a member of the Armco Veterans Club, American Legion Post #29 and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a lifetime member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058, was a U.S. World War II and Korean Conflict Marine veteran and an avid Nascar fan. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Winland of Heath; a son, Kenneth L. (Colleen) Winland Jr. of Zanesville; a sister, Carol (George) Roll of Zanesville; a brother, Don (Gloria) Winland of Licking View; four grandchildren, Crystal (Dennis) Loveridge of Heath, Andrew (Pam) Winland of Westerville; Matthew (Jessica) Winland of Nashport and Shiloh Miller of Zanesville and four great grandchildren, Tess Winland of Westerville, Jack Winland of Nashport, Caitlyn Loveridge and Maggie Loveridge, both of Heath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Winland, whom he married June 19, 1942 and who died January 11, 2006, a brother, Walter Winland Jr. and a sister-in-law, Beverly Winland Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Sparling officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
