L Pauline Cooper

L. Pauline Cooper, age 89, formerly of Gorsuch Rd., Nashport Ohio, went to be with her Lord Sunday, December 19, 2004 at 10:00 pm, at the Newark Healthcare Center, Newark, Ohio. She was born May 21, 1915 in Zanesville the daughter of the late Harley and Florence Leasure Paynter. She was a lifelong resident of the Zanesville area, a 1933 graduate of Lash High School. She worked in various sales positions including, Cussin-Fern, Montgomery Ward, Jan's and Emersons. She also managed the Diana Shop at the Country Fair Shopping Center. Mrs. Cooper was a seventy year member of the Richvale Grange, Pomona Grange and the State Grange. She served on many committees and held various offices including some at the state level. She belonged to the 50 Club, a social group, started in the 1950's. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and dressing up for Halloween and community days. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and will always be remembered for her making and distributing of Divinity Fudge and pumpkin cookies. Surviving are her sister, Dola Todd, nieces: Sherry (Art) Hempfling, Sue Edwards, Sandy (Dean) Kelly, Jane (Bill) Harrier, all of Zanesville, and Marcy (Bill) Bickley of Texas. nephews, Gary (Joyce) Appleman, Bill (Carolyn) Todd, step-daughters, Carol Ann(Carl) Snider, Tacy (Dean) Sarbaugh of Zanesville, and Jane (Bill) Thompson of Fl., brother-in-law, John (Betty) Cooper and a cousin, Frances Blackstone of Zanesville, and a special neighbor and friend, Lester Riley, of Nashport, many great nieces, great nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth R. Hughes, and Kenneth R. Cooper, a sister Louise Appleman, two brother in-laws, Gerald Appleman and Chuck Todd, a niece Dolly Dew, a great nephew David Dew, great nieces, Lynda and Dola Edwards, and Faith Lones. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, South 7th St. Zanesville, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 with Rev. Gary Richard and Rev. Allen Kornacki officiating. Friend may call one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Pauline will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and her love for her family. She was a friend to many and a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, South 7th St., Zanesville, Ohio.
