Larry E. Greulich

Larry E. Greulich, 73, of Zanesville, died at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024, at his home. He was born March 16, 1951, in Cleveland, a son of the late Joseph F. and Ruth Ann (Lippincott) Greulich. Larry attended Ohio University, where he completed his Master’s in Education and went on to teach, finishing up his 36 year career at the Mideast Career & Technology Center.

Larry was a man with inspiring energy and a sense of adventure. His love for the outdoors led him to participate in Bikecentennial, where he biked across the United States! In a span of several years after his retirement, he achieved the incredible feat of hiking half the Appalachian Trail, often joined by his children and friends. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Larry completed an impressive 26 marathons during his lifetime. When he wasn’t on the road or in the wilderness, he occupied his creative mind with model trains and Rock & Roll.

Larry is survived by his three children, Kelly, Kyle (Amber) and Shane (Valerie) Greulich; and two grandchildren Natalie and Nash.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tam (Reeves) Greulich, whom he married June 18, 1983; and his sister Mary Ann Greulich.

Friends and family may call from 4:00 pm until the time of the Rosary Service which will be held at 6:45 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th Street, Zanesville, with Father Sean Dooley as Celebrant. Larry will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Tam at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
