Lawrence Eugene Daniel, 94, of Zanesville, died at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan hospital. He was born March 9, 1914, in Zanesville, a son of the late Cecil R. and Anna Sauerbrey Daniel. He retired after 37 years of service for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and St. Luke Lutheran Church. He was an avid sports fan and his many interests included, pottery and antique collecting. Surviving are his devoted wife of 70 years, Rita Lawson Daniel of the home; two daughters, Patricia (Roy) Thornton of York, SC. and Barbara (Tom) Von Bergen of Boca Raton, FL.; a son, Dr. Terry E. Daniel of Hinckley, OH.; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Daniel of Englewood, OH. and a special nephew, Thomas E. (Barbara) Fulkerson of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Shirley Daniel. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor Brian George officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
