Lawrence C. Orwig, 86, of Norwich, died at 12:53 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his home. He was born January 19, 1925 in Muskingum Co. a son of the late Herman and Iva Fitz Randolph Orwig. He retired from Rockwell International as a machine welder, was a member of the East 40 Church of Christ and a World War Two Army Veteran. Surviving are a son, Keith (Debbie) Orwig of Norwich; three grandchildren, Carolea (Don) Mercer, Janet Pauline Griffin and Julia Rebecca Outzs; three great grandchildren, Alexis Heather Mercer, Kylie Dawn Mercer and Joshua Outzs; a sister, Vivian Dillard of Norfolk, VA; and a half-sister, June Sowers of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Eppley Orwig; two grandchildren; and a sister Betty. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor's Mike and Melody Foster officiating.
