Leslie Earl Barlow, 77, of Roseville, was called home by God at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 4, 1933, in Zanesville, a son of the late Mervin and Mary Beebe Barlow. He retired after 40 years of service as a supervisor for Owens-Brockway Glass. He loved fishing, had a special reverence for nature and animals and insisted on security and happiness for all little children. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Maxine Gadd Barlow, whom he married January 13, 1951, of the home; three daughters, Lynn Roxanne (Steve) Wymer, Randi (Fred) Pappa and Rise Barlow; four grandchildren, Leslie (Jamie) Wymer, Jacob (Taisha) Hina, Lucas (Kristin) Wymer and Sara Hina; four great grandchildren, Matthew Wymer, Parker Hina, Alonzo Wymer and Jasper Hina; a sister, Arieta West; and a special canine friend, Reno. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Leo Barlow, Malcolm Barlow, Theryl Barlow, Russell Barlow, Don Shimer, Freeman Shimer and Julian Shimer. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the funeral home with Mr. Jody B. Holland officiating. Leslie will be laid to rest at Salem Methodist Cemetery, near Dresden, at the convenience of the family.
