Lillian H. Kowalski, 90, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend went to celebrate Christmas with Our Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Chapel Grove Inn in Heath. She was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and upon moving to the Reynoldsburg area she became a member of the Church of Our Lady in Columbus. Lillian had a joyful, loving spirit her entire life. Rarely was she without a smile and a song in her heart. She tried to be a caregiver when she herself needed a caregiver. She always had fun. Lillian loved the card game, wild-rummy; bingo; Ohio State Football and girl's basketball; The Price is Right; and scratch-off lottery tickets. She loved people and animals. The staff and residents at Chapel Grove Assisted Living and Hospice of Central Ohio became a part of her extended family, ever-caring, ever-loving. Lillian doesn't have awards, degrees, or a gold watch, but she worked hard her whole life providing a warm, loving safe haven for her family and a spirit of love within herself. Lillian was born June 28, 1915 to the late Carl and Lillian Stimpel of Millvale, Pa. She was the second of their six children. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Raymond; a daughter, Barbara; a brother, Carl Jr.; sisters, Hazel and Ruth. She is survived by sons: Robert (Sharon) of Toronto; Richard (Star) of Zanesville; Ronald (Debbie) of Coshocton; and daughter, Betty Jane (Paul) Kunz of Millersport. Grandchildren: Robin (Bill) Andrews; Shelly; Chris (Kathy); Tim; Andy (Jenee); Chad (Cherie); Stacey; and Gina (Ben) Jessup. Great-grandchildren: Kendyl; Karcyn; Warren; and Asa : her sister Vera and brother Bill of Pittsburgh, Pa.: numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the funeral home with Fr. Leo Connolly officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
