Lilyan G. (Frew) Minick

Lilyan G. Minick, 85, of Zanesville, went to heaven to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Lilyan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was adored by her family. She was born July 16, 1927, in Frazeysburg, a daughter of the late Ross and Hazel Jennings Frew. Lilyan is survived by a daughter, Jill (Doug) Smith; granddaughter, Jessica (Shane) Rockey; three grandsons, Michael (Jessica) Paisley, Aaron Smith and Andrew Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Stella and Sophia Rockey and Wyatt Paisley. Lilyan is also survived by her sister, Doris Hittle; brother, Forrest Frew; and son-in-law, Mike (Barb) Paisley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald F. Minick, daughter Jacala Paisley, and four brothers. Lilyan was a wonderful cook, loved to work in her flower garden, and was a beautiful seamstress. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Lilyan was devoted to her family, having babysat all four of her grandchildren when they were young. Lilyan had a kind and gentle spirit, and she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 24, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7th and Market Street, Zanesville, with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Donald, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
