Lois L. Butler

Lois L. Huffman Butler, 89, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Beckett House in New Concord. She was born March 8, 1918, in Rural Dale, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stanley and Olive Barclay Huffman. Lois was the former owner and operator of the Ideal Beauty Salon. She was a member of Muskingum Presbyterian Church and was an avid golfer. Surviving are a daughter, Carole A. Butler Smock of Zanesville and two grandsons, Douglas G. (Tammy) Smock and Jason E. (Mandy) Smock, both of Zanesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Earl Butler, who died February 18, 2003 and a son-in-law, Edmund G. Smock, who died October 31, 1996. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at Muskingum Presbyterian Cemetery, Nashport, with Dr. James Schumacher officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with all arrangements.
