Lois Jane Stemm

August 20, 1925 — September 12, 2010

Lois Jane Leffler Stemm, 85, of Zanesville, died after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loved ones, at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born August 20, 1925, in Chandlersville, a daughter of the late Louis and Beryl Collins Leffler. She retired after 20 years of service as a physical therapist assistant for Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital and had worked as a laborer for Mosaic Tile and an assembler for Essex Wire on ceramic. She was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed gambling, vacationing in Florida and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, who was the love of her life, soul mate and best friend, Ronald E. Stemm, whom she married April 7, 1979, of the home; four daughters, Karen Shinn, Cindy Lawson and Joy Geyer, all of Zanesville and Jamie Curley of St. Petersburg, Florida; two sons, Michael (Tracy) Kinneer of Nashport and Jesse "Rex" Stemm of Zanesville; nine grandchildren, Trisha (Jimmy) Darden, Jennifer (John) Euler, Jason (Angie) Lawson, Austin Kinneer, Bryce Goss, Caiden Kinneer, Sarah and Hannah Curley, and Natalie (Dustin) Randall; six great grandchildren, twins John Jr. and Jacob Euler, Aaron Euler, Emily Lawson, Avery Grace Darden and Cadence Randall; a sister, Saundra K. Newton of Arkansas; and a very dear friend, Bonnie Roush of Philo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hummel. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home,1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
