Loren Clinton Camp was a man that quietly lived and loved with gentleness and integrity.
Family and friends lost this beautiful soul on Tuesday February 2, 2021. He was born in Radcliff, Ohio March 26, 1934 to Clinton Elmer Camp and Ethel Frances Saunders. He spent his childhood in the hills of Southern Ohio and attended school in Columbus. After graduation from high school and attending one year at The Ohio State University he served in the Army from September 1954 to September 1956 where he was stationed in the Canal Zone in Colon, Panama. He was honorably discharged having received an Expert Sharpshooter Award and Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning home he completed his degree in Civil Engineering at OSU, which started a very successful career with many honors and distinctions. He began as a Project Engineer with Rackoff & Associates (1961- 1966), Tweed & Eriksson (1966-1970) both in Columbus, Ohio, and as the City Engineer of Cambridge, Ohio from 1970 to 1972. He started his very notable career as the County Engineer of Muskingum County Ohio from 1972 to 2004.
After graduation from college he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he shared his time, talents, and love with many throughout his life. Loren's attributes of patience, generosity of spirit, seeing the best in others and tremendous work ethic made him so very easy to love and to work with. Being a man of very few words he guided and encouraged those he loved without judgment, yet offered support by doing everything he could to help.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary and sweet sister Cathern Camp Fonner.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn M. Conrad Camp. He was a proud Father to his children: Harold Camp (Carol), Lorena Camp, Denise Camp Lopez (Robert), Eric Camp (Nancy), Chase Camp. Also, proud Stepfather to: Nick Osborne (Stefanie), Chad Osborne (Annie). He leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Hey Dad we're burning that pile of brush. We will be sure to pass on your "Dad" jokes. You will be sorely missed, but we are so incredibly grateful to have had you with us in this life.
