M. Alene (Pickrell) Plummer

M. Alene Pickrell Plummer, 88, of Zanesville, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at her residence. She was born September 1, 1922, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Roy and Mary Soller Pickrell. She had worked as a payroll clerk for the Beavercreek School System and in the Treasurer's Office at the Muskingum County Vocational School. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and Beavercreek OES #570. She was a longtime volunteer at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. Surviving are five grandchildren, Melinda (Tim) Patterson, Ralph (Angie) Luca, Sam (Kim) Luca, Mandy (Kevin) Henrie and Christina (John) King; eleven great grandchildren; and four sisters, Evelyn Sheets and Norma (Bill) Near, both of Zanesville, Marjorie (Stanley) Ryckman of Mansfield, Ohio and Betty (Thurman) Drake of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylon W. Plummer, who died September 5, 1990; a daughter, Linda Luca; a son, Timothy Plummer; a sister, Dorothy Yarger; and six brothers, William, Richard, Edward, Frederick, Ted and James. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Floyd Starr officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
