Mabel Jean Lucas, 85, of Zanesville, died at 2:15 P.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born August 28, 1928, in Decatur, Alabama, a daughter of the late Maylon and Bertie Sharp Wylie. She had worked as a Pharmacy Tech for CVS. Mabel enjoyed her family, and loved being a wife and a mother. Surviving are a son Joseph George Lucas Jr. of Zanesville; a daughter Sharon Kay Lucas of Zanesville; a grandson Robert Joseph French of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph George Lucas Sr. who died in 1996; a sister Lois Woodard; and a brother Dennis Wylie. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 7:00-9:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 16, 2014. A dignified cremation will take place.
