Madalon J (Curby) Hursey

November 25, 1922 — April 9, 2011

Madalon J. "Mickey" Hursey, 88, of Zanesville, died at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, April 09, 2011 at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born November 25, 1922, in Newcomerstown, Oh, to the late Ralph and Bess Curby. She was a member of Gratiot United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star of Newcomerstown, the past president of the Lady Elks #114 Auxillary for two years, a former member of Templar Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and in high school a Coshocton and Zanesville Cheerleader, majorette and in the girl's glee club. Madalon was cosmetic buyer forS Bintyz Bruz in Zanesville. She is survived by three sons, Gehrig L. Hursey of Worthington, Oh, Robin Hursey of Hilliard and Steve (Pauline) Jennings of Coshocton; six grandchildren, Brittany, Gracie, Gabriella, Steve Jr., Shelly and Lisa; several great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Smith of Grove City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dick L. Hursey who died November 17, 2004; a grandson; and a great grandson. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 with Rev. Martha Gross officiating. Madalon will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Dick, at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or a charity of your choice.
