Mamie L (Smythe) Bunting

Mamie L. Bunting, 65, of McConnelsville, Ohio, died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 7, 1946, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Curtis "Red" Martin and Lois "Tibby" Farmer Smythe. She retired from Cleveland University Hospital as a Phlebotomist and was a nursing technician. Mamie loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking, sewing and music, especially Elvis and was known as the "Clorox Queen" making sure everything in their home was spotless. Surviving are her husband, Hugh Bunting of the home, a daughter, Jamie (Dave) Berlin of Grafton; a son, Jason Bunting of Zanesville; three step-daughters, Carla (Richard) Ellis of Delaware, Ohio, Teresa (Terry) Killen of Sunbury and Dawn Counts of Delaware, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Steven Berlin, Jeremy Bunting, Julia Bunting, Deanna McGary, Bethany Bunting, Autumn Bunting and Chase Killen; two great grandchildren, Zavier McGary and Gianna McGary; four sisters, Sally (Homer) Osborn of Zanesville, Judy (John Woodrow) of Conesville, Sue (Joe Swiney) of Philo and Monty Smythe of Zanesville; two brothers, Richard (Tammi) Martin of Zanesville and Larry Martin of Crooksville; sister-in-law, Nellie Bates of Dresden; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Russell Smythe; and a brother, Dale Martin. Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Mr. Randy Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls, Ohio.
