Margaret L. Carpenter

Margaret L. Carpenter, 81, of Zanesville, died at 1:29 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. She was born October 2, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Herbert and Marie Stoneman Loomis. She received her Master's Degree in Music from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, was an organist for 15 years at Shepherd of the Glades in Naples, Florida, taught flute (which was her main instrument) and performed for the Cincinnati Symphony. She was a member of St. Luke's American Lutheran Church and the Ohio Music Teacher's Association. Surviving are a son, James (Beth) Carpenter of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Ashley Carpenter of Dublin, Ohio and Jae Carpenter of Columbus, Ohio. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Carpenter, who died July 8, 2001 and a daughter, Janice Carpenter, who died in 1964. No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Rest Haven Cemetery in Blue Ash, Ohio. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with all arrangements.
