Margaret L. (Brock) Lear

Margaret L. Lear, 92, of Zanesville, died at 12:35 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, with her family at her side. She was born April 4, 1923, in Zanesville, to the late William Jennings Bryan Brock and Linnie Wible Brock. She attended Zanesville High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, served on the Deaconess Board, Christian Education Board, and church coordinator of the Priscilla Missionary Circle. She was employed by Zanesville City Schools as a bus driver for 18 years. Surviving are two sons, John William (Rose) of Dresden and James Richard (Pam) of Zanesville; two daughters, Beryl Lynn (Homer) Dennis and Roxanne (Jody) Dennis of Zanesville; one daughter-in-law Judy Lear of Zanesville; and one step-daughter Mary Ellen (Earl) Pride of Roseville. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Burl E. Lear; three sisters, Kathryn Bunker, Wanda Hutchinson and Hazel Dunlap; two brothers, Robert Brock and Donald Brock; two sons, Darrell E. Lear and infant son Rusty J. Lear; and one step-son Roger Lear. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 17, 2015, with Pastor Joe Seese officiating. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
