Margaret Louise Maris

July 18, 1919 — April 2, 2008

Margaret Louise Tipton Maris, 88, of Zanesville, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 18, 1919, in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Charles William and Vera Edyth Gibson Tipton. She was a Packer for Hazel Atlas and was an Avon Representative for 13 years. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving are two daughters, Carol K. George and Jacque D. Maris, both of Zanesville; two grandsons, Timothy P. George and Thomas A. George; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Winland; a niece and nephew and two loyal dogs, Thatch and Saucy. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Maris, whom she married December 31, 1941 and who died November 5, 2003; a sister, Dorothy Winland; a son-in-law, Patrick George and her beloved, Chilli Dogs. No calling hours will be observed. The family has chosen Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville to perform a caring cremation. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mark A. Combs officiating.
