Maria A. (Kohlmann) Agin

Maria A. Agin, 91, of Zanesville, died after a sudden illness at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House surrounded by family. She was born June 9, 1920, in Nuremburg, Germany, a daughter of the late Heinrich and Anna Kuhmel Kohlmann. She had worked as a secretary for the City of Nuremburg, Germany and then worked for Quality Furniture, Bing's, and then retired in 1967 from General Electric. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Amrou Cauldron, FOPA Ladies Auxiliary, All Nations Club and German Coffee Klutch Club. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Bunting and Monika Spragg, both of Zanesville; two sons, Kurt (Marylou) Agin of Zanesville and Philip Agin of the home; five grandsons, Jason (Lara) Bunting and Bryan (Amy) Bunting, both of Zanesville, Kory (Carey) Agin of Liberty Twp., Aaron Spragg and Adam Spragg, both of Zanesville; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a special friend, Ilse Bateman of Calabash, NC; and a furry friend, Minnie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron R. "Cam" Agin, whom she married August 3, 1945 and who died April 20, 2007; a son, Cameron Agin Jr.; and two brothers, Kurt Kohlmann and Richard Hopf. No calling hours will be observed. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Rev. Mark A. Combs officiating. Maria will be laid to rest next to her husband, Cam, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
