Marilyn S. Morrison, 69, of Zanesville, died at 4:23 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born on September 20, 1942 in Zanesville to the late Glen and Hazel Gallogly Sidwell. Marilyn was a member at St. Thomas Catholic Church. She graduated from Zanesville High School in 1960, graduate of Ohio University, and Muskingum College where she earned a Masters Degree. Marilyn was a school teacher at St. Nicholas Catholic School. She taught school for thirty-nine years, and thirty-five of those years at the St. Nicholas Catholic School. While a teacher at Saint Nicholas Catholic School she was named Teacher of the year in the Catholic Schools Diocese's of Columbus. Marilyn was an avid reader, a member of the Authors Club and loved working in her garden and being with her family. Surviving are her husband, John W. Morrison, whom she married on August 17, 1963; a daughter, Karen Kline of Zanesvillle; a son, Jeffrey W. Morrison of Zanesville; two grandsons, Justin Owen and Jarod Kline both of Zanesville. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Glen D. Sidwell. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with a Dominican Father officiating. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Mt.
