Marion Ray Stoneburner, 67, of Buford, Georgia, died at 3:12 P.M. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 19, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of Alvin E. Stoneburner of Zanesville and the late Lois E. Sullivan Stoneburner. Marion graduated from Zanesville High School Class of 1965, then went on to obtain his Masters Degree in Business Administration at the Ohio University. He retired after 47 years of service from Applied Industrial Technologies as Regional Sales Manager and was a member of Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA. Surviving in addition to his father, is his wife, Nancy Ann (Sharkey) Stoneburner, whom he married on December 28, 1968; two sons, Michael R. (Jeannine) Stoneburner of Atlanta, GA and Mitchell R. Stoneburner of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Melanie A. (Andrew) Bell of Charlotte, NC; four granddaughters, Madison, Isabella, Emily and Brinkley; two brothers, Marvin (Kay) Stoneburner of Zanesville and Mark (Julie) Stoneburner of Hickory, NC; a sister, Sharon (Steve) Francis of Zanesville; a sister-in-law, Bette A. Stoneburner of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother, Myron G. Stoneburner. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, October 10, 2014 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at The First Assembly of God Church, 533 McIntire Avenue, Zanesville with Pastors Jim Peters, and Kelly & Greg Preston officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
