Marjorie M. Mcfarland

Marjorie M. McFarland, 82, of New Concord, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born February 17, 1926 in Zanesville a daughter of the late Earl and Kathryn Williams Harrop. She retired as a Ward Clerk at Bethesda Hospital and had also worked for General Electric. Marjorie was a member of the Ark Springs Baptist Church and a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 Woman's Auxiliary. She also taught people to skate at the Lind Arena. Surviving are a daughter; Deborah ( Greg) Dodson of Zanesville; a son, Donald ( Lisa) McDonald of Whitehall; two step-brothers; Ray Kuhn of Zanesville and Terry Kuhn of Florida; a step-sister, Dixie Norris of Zanesville; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Rex McDonald and Richard McDonald and a great grandchild. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating. Burial will follow at Ark Springs Baptist Cemetery, near Cumberland. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey Co. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
