Marjorie E. Monahan

Marjorie E. Maier Monahan, 86, of Zanesville, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 10, 1922, in Morgan County, the daughter of the late Jesse and Elizabeth Strohl Wheeler. Marjorie was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ and served as a volunteer at the Red Cross and Bethesda Hospital. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann (Bill) Harris of Peebles, OH.; a son, David H. (Donna) Maier of Walker, W.V.; four sisters, Elsie McPherson of South Zanesville, Mary Braglin of Rosefarm, Helen Kudyba of Avondale and Betty Gibbs of Deavertown; a brother, Norman Wheeler of Nashport; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard D. Maier, who died in 1979; her second husband, Thomas Monahan, who died in 1989; a sister, Virginia Bell; and a brother, Jesse Wheeler. Calling hours will begin at 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Mr. Bill Meaige officiating. Burial will follow at Crooksville Cemetery.
