Marlene A. Thornberry

Marlene A. Phillis Thornberry, 81, of Zanesville, died at 3:01 A.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Zanesville Heath and Rehabilitation Center, Zanesville. She was born May 28, 1935, daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Dover German. She is survived by the father of her children, Maynard Phillis of Newark; a daughter, Denise Salmons, of Bladensburg; three sons, Dale (Nancy) Phillis of Zanesville, David (Mary) Phillis of Zanesville, and Darren Phillis of Bladensburg; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Carlos Allen of Zanesville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thornberry; siblings, Violet Leitner, James German, Madaline Rubin, Helen Thornton, Richard German, Robert German, Donald German, and Marion German; and a grandson Michael Phillis.
