Martha A. Drake

Martha A. Drake, 85, of Zanesville died at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born August 12, 1923 a daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Stremmel Stenger. She retired in 1985 in the payroll Department of Brockway Glass and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Surviving are four step-grandsons, Nick and Derek Drake of Utah, Randy Drake of Reynoldsburg and Clint Drake of Newark; seven step-great grandchildren; three nieces; Vicky (Ken) Liff of Lancaster, with whom Martha was residing with, Chris Erickson of Lancaster, and Mary Ann Nock of Columbus; three nephews; Pat (Jenny) McCarty of Marathon, Florida, Jim ( Holly) Davis of Whispering Pines, NC. and Dave ( Karen) Martin of Lancaster; several great nieces and great nephews and special friends, Pat and Don Hylkema of Zanesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. "Bob" Drake; a step-son, James Drake; five sisters, Marian McCarty, Ruth Davis, Laura Jean Guenther, Carol Martin and infant sister, Dorothy Stenger; a nephew, Michael McCarty and a niece, Marty Davis Patterson. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 with Rev. Mitch Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 105 South Seventh Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Muskingum Valley Old Timers Baseball Association.
