Martin I. Zwelling, 94, of 1065 Johnson Ave., Newark, Ohio, died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Chestnut House in Newark, Ohio. He was born June 5, 1913, in Zanesville, the son of the late Harry and Tillie Abraham Zwelling. Martin was an Engineer at the former McGraw Edison Corp., retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honorary Engineering Fraternity, a member of the County Board for Retarded Citizens, a member of the Beth Abraham Synagoque and the B'nai B'rith. Surviving are his sister, Shirley Silberstein of Columbus; two grandchildren, Ryan Zwelling and Molly Zwelling; a daughter in law, Linda Zwelling of Golden, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Baker Zwelling; a son, Ronald Zwelling; two brothers, Herbert Zwelling and Arthur Zwelling and a sister, Rozella Eiseman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with the Rabbi Jeffrey Elson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jewish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Abraham Synagogue, 1740 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
