Mary Frances Allton

Mary Frances Swope Allton, 103, of Zanesville, passed away at 11:05 A.M. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville. She was born May 31, 1914 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Gordon and Mabel Kelly Swope. She graduated from Lash High School, Class of 1931 and attended Muskingum College for one year. She finalized her Bachelors Degree from Frances Bolton School of Nursing along with Case Western University in Cleveland in 1936. Mary was a life time member of Central Presbyterian Church. She found great joy in her pets and feeding the birds and deer from her backyard. Surviving are several cousins; Ralph (Ada) Kelly and Dorothy (Charles) McLean both of Zanesville; Alan and Dale Swope of Dallas, Texas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Allton. A Cremation-With-Care has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville with Elder Mary Perone officiating. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband Harold.
