MARY ANN WILD SMITH, age 83, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 6:35 am Friday, July 22, 2005 at the home of her daughter. She was born October 9, 1921, in Zanesville the daughter of the late Frank J. & Ella Brandtman Wild. Mrs. Smith was a former secretary for the US Department of Interior, and later employed by Columbia Gas of Ohio and then the old Line Material Co. She was a lifetime member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School Secretary She served as a secretary of the Sunday School from the age of 16 years old until her later life. Mrs. Smith enjoyed her bridge club, liked to play euchre and loved her chocolate, ice cream, and food in general. Surviving are a daughter, Ann (Dan) Kline of Nashport, one son, Robert John (Dorinda) Smith of Newark, two sisters, Harriet Jean Twiggs and Nancy Lou (Charles) Peyton, both of Zanesville, grandchildren, Staci K. (Steven) Canterbury of Newark and Robert John Smith Jr. of Newark, one great granddaughter, Kailey Smith of Newark and one great grandson, Steven Canterbury Jr. also of Newark. Also one niece Barbara Jean (Erik) Giebig of Knoxville TN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith (March 1988) and a infant brother Frederick (1927). Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 25, 2005 at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Greening officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
