Mary Eleanor Peirce Bell, 95, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007. She was the widow of Samuel Alvin Bell, who passed away in 2006. She was born July 25, 1912, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Edmund W. and Vera Wilcox Peirce Sr. Her brother, Edmund Peirce Jr., passed away in 1996. She attended Denison University and was a graduate of Miami University (Ohio). She left Zanesville in 1940. Most of her adult life was spent in Middletown, Ohio, where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer in many organizations including the Doty House and Meals on Wheels. She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Donald) Williams of Holland, Michigan and a son, Samuel (Joyce) Bell of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by four grandsons, David Williams of Holland, Michigan, Brian (Heidi) Williams of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Patrick (Lori) Bell of Hudson, Ohio and Michael Bell of Columbus, Ohio and two great grandsons, Samuel and Dominic Bell of Hudson, Ohio. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at noon, Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Zanesville Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Morrison Jr. officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio are entrusted with all arrangements.
