Mary J Brown

Mary J. Brown, 76, of Zanesville, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born March 31, 1934, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late S. Lloyd and Jennie Burrows Shook. Mary was a longtime employee at the Ross IGA in Zanesville serving as a deli clerk. She is survived by a son, Jeff R. (Evelyn) Brown of Zanesville; two brothers, Sam (Zelma) Shook of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Gary Shook of Zanesville; a nephew, Steve (Cindy) Chapin of Zanesville and other nieces and nephews; a longtime special friend, Carl Bailey of Zanesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brown, who died in 1961; a sister, Nancy Chapin and six brothers, Bobby, Buddy, Dick, Jack, Bill, and Ralph Shook. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
