Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Dunn, 82, of Zanesville, died at 8:20 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1942, in Roseville, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marie (Combs) Wilson. She retired from Zanesville City Schools where she worked as a classroom aide and librarian, mostly at Rufus Putnam Elementary. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years and spent many years with the church choir, bell choir, and women's ministries. She loved her “Pairs and Spares” Sunday School Class, where she made many lifelong friends. Being a part of the church community was her life passion. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Dunn on June 8, 1961, and were married 6o years before his passing.
She is survived by her three children, Anne (Marvin) Troendly, Eileen (Eric) Zech, and Tim (Erin) Dunn; eight grandchildren, Joey (Alexis) and Jacob (Samantha) Troendly, Elizabeth, Elliott, Ryan and Adam Zech, and Madeline (Kolten) Gaskill and Mason Dunn; three great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Troendly, Hannah Troendly and Gwen Gaskill; and a sister, Christy Ritter of Arkansas.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gordon Dunn, who passed away on January 31, 2022.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M on Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 116 North 7th Street, Zanesville, with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Mary will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Ken at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Oaks of Northpointe, Genesis Hospital, and Genesis Hospice Morrison House for their tender care, love, and compassion for her life.
