Mary Louise (Soter) Graves

Mary Louise Graves, 93, of Zanesville, died at 3:44 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born July 18, 1917, in Benwood, West Virginia, a daughter of the late John and Anna M. Hynes Soter. She was a life member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she was D of I and also belonged to the Senior First Club. She was a wife, mother, grandma and friend to all. Surviving are two daughters, Delores Ann Strohacker of Winchester, KY and Carol Jane (Fred) Wilson of Zanesville; a son, James Eugene (Lois) Graves of Ostrander, OH; 9 grandchildren, Delbert (Michelle) Strohacker Jr., Donnie (Rebecca) Strohacker, Dennis (Beth) Wilson, Gregg (Annie) Wilson, Rick (Kendra) Wilson, Ronald (Julia) Graves, Debra (Duane) Robinson, Douglas (Shelly) Graves and Bradley Graves; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a step brother, Paul Zigo of Zanesville; and a step-sister, Mary Zigo of Milantok, WI; . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Orville R. Graves, whom she married December 28, 1935 and who died October 4, 1987; her step father, Steve Zigo, who died January 22, 1983; a son, Jeffrey Eugene Graves, who died October 4, 1961; an infant daughter, Nancy Graves; two brothers, Mike and John Soter; a sister, Anna Zigo; and a step sister, Phillis Stone; a half brother, Joseph Zigo; two half sisters, Margaret Corbin and Rose Donnley; and a son-in-law, Delbert Strohacker. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where vigil services will be held at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Martin Ralko as celebrant. Mary Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband Orville in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice- Morrison House, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
