Mary Lou Hunsaker, 86, of 1136 Adair Ave., Zanesville, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born March 12, 1923, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late William K. and Ruth M. Bowers Rait. She was a former secretary for the Veterans Administration in Dayton and later was employed as an office worker for Dura Corp. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #485, a volunteer at Bethesda Hospital, a member of the First Families of Muskingum County, a member of the Southeastern Ohio Teamsters Retirees Association and served for many years as a poll worker. Mary Lou was a long time member of the Putnam Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer of the Women's Society and the financial secretary at the church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and aunt and will be missed by her many friends. Surviving are twin sons, Dale E. Hunsaker of Carrollton and Daniel E. Hunsaker of New Lexington; a sister, Peggy Fink of Zanesville; two nephews, Douglas (Connie) Fink and Mark Fink, both of Zanesville; and two great nephews, Ryan (Anna) Fink and Nicholas (Nicole) Fink, both of Zanesville, and great-great niece, Cora Isabelle Fink. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey A. Hunsaker, who died January 15, 1985, and a brother in-law, Charles J. (Chuck) Fink, who died June 16, 2009. No calling hours will be observed. At Mary Lou's request a dignified cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Putnam Presbyterian Church. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until service time at 4:00 p.m. with Herb Perry officiating. The Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
