Mary Lou (Barnett) Mast

Mary Lou Mast, 85, of Zanesville, died at 11:36 P.M. on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born January 30, 1929, in East Fultonham, the daughter of the late Orval and Olive Mauk Barnett. Mary Lou graduated from Lash High School in 1946, and was a bookkeeper at Timken Roller Bearing until she became a mother in October, 1955. She was a homemaker and seamstress. Beginning in 1978, Mary Lou aided her son, Darryl, with Custom Vehicles of Zanesville for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Ralph L. Mast, whom she married June 13, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Roseville, Ohio; a daughter Gisele (Ron) Bachelor of Zanesville; a son Darryl (Melanie) Mast of Zanesville; a grandson Wesley (Chelsie) Bachelor of Hilliard; a granddaughter Olivia Mast of Cincinnati; a great grandson Mason Ray Bachelor; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew David (Donna) Barnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Zane and sister-in-law Delores Barnett. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 3, 2014, with the Rev. Walter Huffman officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House: 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701; or to St. Luke's Lutheran Church: 1330 Pine Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
