Mary J. (Hawkins) Phillips

Mary J. Phillips, 78, of Zanesville, died at 8:15 A.M. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 1, 1934, in Middleburg, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bertrand and Freda Wilson Hawkins. She retired from Stanley Home Products after 30 years of service, and she loved to garden. Surviving are her beloved husband James W. Phillips, whom she married February 18, 1955, of the home; a sister Wanda Harvey of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Maxine Hamilton; and two brothers, Charles and Marvin Hawkins. Friends and family may call from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
