Mary Lou (Seevers) Sherfy

Mary Lou Sherfy, 68, of Zanesville, died at 4:50 P.M. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at her home. She was born July 24, 1947, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Robert D. Sr. and Helen E. Morrison Seevers. She had worked for the Longaberger Company repairing baskets. She loved working outdoors, mowing grass, working in her flower garden, and going to Wheeling, WV to the casino. She is survived by her husband David L. Sherfy Sr., whom she married July 25, 1965; a son David Lee (Kim) Sherfy Jr. of Zanesville; a daughter Melissa (Mark Wells) Sherfy of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Cory Wells, Kaitlyn Wells, Keili Sherfy and Raider Sherfy; two great grandchildren, Hayden Smith and Kinlee Sherfy; two brothers, Jack (Honey) Seevers of Zanesville and David (Cheryl) Seevers of Roseville; brothers-in-law, Ron (Ingrid) Sherfy and Bob (Rosemary) Sherfy, all of Zanesville, and Gerald (Molly) Sherfy of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Linda Brown of Pataskala and Debbie (Stan) Merris of Waynesville, OH; special friend Sandy Bartoli of Zanesville; and coffee buddy Delbert (Nancy) Alfred of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Seevers and Robert D. Seevers Jr.; a granddaughter Destiny Sherfy; her stepfather Emmett Mauller; and her furry companion Barney. Friends and family may call from 12:30 until the funeral service at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville.
