Mary L. Smith

Mary L. Smith, 95, of Zanesville, died at 1:55 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at the Helen Purcell Home. She was born February 2, 1914, in Murray, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Hollis F. and Fern Pierce Lawrence. She was a receptionist for Hazel L. Butterfield, O.D. and a member of The Chapel of All Faiths. Surviving are a sister; Wilma F. Moose of Hollywood, Florida; three step-sons, Michael L. Smith of Oakland, CA., Stephen V. Smith of Sarasota, Florida and Scott A. Smith of Portland, OR. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Owen Phillips; her second husband, Carl E. Smith; a sister, Margaret L. Tower; and a step-sister, Hazel Butterfield, O.D. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Dr. E. Wayne Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
