Mary A Spinks, 88, of Zanesville, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born March 9, 1920, in Zanesville, to the late Herman and Mamie Newbanks Kennison. Mary retired from Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital after 30 years of service. She attended the Southside Baptist Church and was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of America. She enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and loved to travel and watch her hummingbirds. Surviving are her six daughters, Sally (Dana) Downey of Zanesville, Barbara Ingles of Snow Camp, North Carolina, Georgia Gibson of Nashport, Judy (Robert) Deeter of Jackson, Michigan, Connie Edington of Coshocton and Eileen (Timothy) Fabian of Warsaw; one son, Robert L Spinks Jr. of Zanesville; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Spinks Sr., who died December 29, 1969 and a brother, Arthur Kennison. Friends may call from noon till service time at 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 19, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greeenwood Cemetery, Zanesville.
