Mary Lou Taylor

Mary Lou Straker Taylor, 86, of Zanesville, died at 2:04 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born March 22, 1924, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, a daughter of the late B. R. & Marguerite Ackeret Straker. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Zanesville Country Club. Mary Lou was an avid bridge player and golfer. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Lee Rearick of Gahanna, Ohio and Dr. Lou Anne (Bill Schimmel) Taylor of Zanesville; a son, Atty. William J. (Julie Freeland) Taylor of Zanesville; three brothers, J. William (Mary Helen) Straker, Richard J. (June) Straker, and Charles E. (Sue) Straker, all of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Amanda (Alex) Guzzo of Columbus, Ohio, Leigh (Matthew) Taylor-Higgins of Alexandria, Virginia, Ann Taylor of Zanesville and Jody Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Nella Taylor-Higgins and Arlo Taylor-Higgins, both of Alexandria, Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Jean Straker of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Taylor, who died March 10, 1974; a grandson, David Rearick and a brother, Robert A. Straker. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Rev. Steve McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
