Mary M. Umbaugh, 67, of Cambridge, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday February 11 after a two year battle with cancer. She was born in 1950, in Grove City, PA, to Charles and Elsie Slater. Mary worked at Slippery Rock Pregnancy Center, PA, for over 10 years. She received her BA degree from Malone University in Canton, OH, in 2009. She was the initiator for the Cambridge Open Arms Pregnancy Center in 2009 and served on the board for several years. As a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, New Concord, OH, she was the initiator of the AWANA program for children. She enjoyed music and completed writing a hymn this year. She is preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother, Robert E. Slater. She is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Umbaugh, whom she married in 1969. Her daughter, Bobbi Kaye (Kerry) Trudgeon of Mechanicsburg, PA, a son, Barry Kent (Sherri) Umbaugh of Gettysburg, PA, and one grandson, Cailin Charles Umbaugh of Gettysburg, PA, a brother, Richard E. (Shirley) Slater of Fredonia, PA, a sister, Charlotte (Al) Goerlich of Amherst, OH, two nieces: Susan (Gary) Patterson and Tammy (Tim) Hanna, both of Fredonia, PA, three nephews: Richard C. Slater of Akron, OH, David (Lynne) Goerlich of North Olmsted, OH, Michael Goerlich of Lakewood, OH, one uncle, John Calvin Linn of Clarks Mills, PA. A celebration service will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church, New Concord, Ohio, on Thursday February 15 at 7 PM.
