Mary E. (Vousden) Wheeler

July 9, 1914 — January 21, 2015

Mary E. Wheeler, 100, of Zanesville, died at 12:05 P.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Willow Haven Care Center. She was born July 9, 1914, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Ivy Moore Vousden. She was a Technician in the Laboratory with 22 years of loyal service at the Genesis Bethesda Hospital, and she was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Vonda (Rodger McDonald) Morrow of Newark and Barbara (Richard) Powell of Nashport; six grandchildren, Mike Morrow, Andy (Cynthia) Morrow, Paul (Sue) Chema, Kyle (Kenzie) Powell, Molly (Jonathan) Davis, and Matthew (Lisa) Powell; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a beloved sister and best friend Bessie Strauss of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David H. Wheeler, who died in 1982; three brothers, Charles, John, and Albert Vousden; and a sister Margaret Leffler. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, with Rev. Charles Norris officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Willow Haven for the care and love given to our mother for the last 4 years.
