Mearl F. Joseph, 85, of Zanesville died at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital emergency room. He was born April 2, 1919 in Zanesville a son of the late Milton and Nellie Shaw Joseph. He retired in 1982 as Maintenance Superintendent at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.Mr. Joseph kept busy working in his vegetable garden and doing yard work. He spent his free time doing woodworking. After his move to assisted living, he entertained the other residents playing his guitar and singing and he always checked up on things and people while there to make sure everything was ok. Mr. Joseph also enjoyed flying. Surviving are two daughters, Carole A. ( Dale ) Powell and Marilyn S. ( John ) Wyatt both of Zanesville, one brother, Earl Joseph of Sebring Florida, four grandchildren, Nicki ( Tim ) Weir of Canton, Missy Powell of Zanesville, Karyn ( Craig ) Stillion of Claysville and Melanie Wyatt of Zanesville, four great grandchildren, Laurel and Emily Weir of Canton and Tyler and Hannah Stillion of Claysville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline Lucas Joseph, who died in 1998 and four sisters and two brothers. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 with Pastor L. Dale Mc Callister and Pastor Ron Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
