Michael D. Tahyi, Jr., 69, of Zanesville, died at 2:40 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born May 4, 1951, in Zanesville, a son of the late Michael D. and Maxine E. (Samson) Tahyi, Sr. He worked for the City of Zanesville for over thirty years as the Foreman of the City Street Sanitation Department and was a member of The Anchor Church. Michael was excellent at woodworking and very passionate in what he created. He loved his grandkids and his family dearly and never met a stranger.
He is survived by a son, Michael D. Tahyi, III; and three grandchildren, Michael D. Tahyi IV, Krystalynn Angelina Tahyi, and Madison Makayla Tahyi; two brothers, Randy (Peggy) Tahyi and Robert “Gene” (Kami) Tahyi; and a sister, Vicki (Robert) Kirkbride.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra A. Tahyi whom he married October 16, 1970 and died November 23, 2020 and a sister, Patricia "Pat" Evans.
Friends and family may call from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday December 12 at The Anchor Church, 1365 Chamberlin Street, Zanesville with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating. Michael and Debra will both be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville following the service.
