Mike R. Demp

Mike R. Demp, 81, of Zanesville, died at 8:07 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 19, 1942, in Zanesville, a son to the late Mike T. Demp and Lavina (Holdren) Demp. He retired from Anchor Glass after 37 years, was a member of The Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church of Zanesville, and also The Church of the Crossroads in Florida. Mike was a 50 Year Member of the Eagles Lodge #302 in Zanesville, and a Lifetime member of the Good Sam Camping Organization, where he had previously served as Director over the State of Ohio. Mike and his wife Sue had been snowbirds for the past 26 years, and were active volunteers for Cornerstone Hospice of Clermont, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Sue (Geiger) Demp, whom he married June 24, 1972; a sister-in-law Donna (Ken) Pruden; a brother-in-law Larry (Bridget) Geiger; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Mike never met a stranger and will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rodney Demp.

Friends and family may call from­­­ 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, with Pat Wiseman-Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
