Mildred L. (Nan) Grear, 90, of Zanesville, passed away at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Muskingum County Home after a lengthy illness. She was born December 8, 1919, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Lichtner Roberts. She was the co-owner of Grear Motorcycles. She had been a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She loved gardening, ceramics, her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Larry (Debbie) Grear of Zanesville; two brothers, Bernard (Marie) Roberts of Perrysburg and Gerald Roberts of Zanesville; grandchildren, David (Robin) Grear of White Cottage, Lisa Chapman of Philo, Rob Miracle and Shane Miracle and Amy Little of Zanesville; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thomas Grear, who died July 17, 1994; a daughter, Shirley A. Ball, who died July 24, 2004; three brothers, Harold, Donald and Russell Roberts; a sister, Margaret Fleming; and a great-grandchild, Rance D. Grear. Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
