It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved husband and father, Millard R. “Whitey” Osborn, 91, of Zanesville, passed away at 6:36 P.M. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 27, 1932, a son of the late Kenneth R. and Pearl (Leasure) Osborn, in Gratiot, Ohio. Millard was born and raised in Gratiot, he graduated from Hopewell High School, he worked and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 39 years of service, he is a Veteran of the United States Army, he graduated from NCO Military School in Fort Benning, Georgia, he was a member of the American Legion, and Jackson Lodge #85. Millard was an avid sports fan and supporter of West Muskingum Local Schools.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia (Parr) Osborn, whom he married on, December 9, 1956; four children, Timothy “Tim” Osborn, Vicki Osborn, Todd (Bridget) Osborn, and Tedd Osborn; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Osborn, Josh Osborn, Melissa (Nick) Collakides, Tayler (Richard) Glenn, Skylar Osborn, Morgana (Lucus) Park, Rachel Osborn, Zane Osborn, Jessica Osborn, Heath Osborn, Ava Osborn; and one great-grandson, Hendrix Collakides; one brother, Kenneth R. Osborn Jr.; a sister-in-law, Helen Norman of Savannah, GA. and several nieces and nephews.
Millard was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may call 4:00-6:00 P.M. with Masonic Services being held at 5:45 P.M., on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. He will be laid to rest at Poplar Forks Cemetery, Gratiot, with full Military honors accorded to him by the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 in conjunction with the United States Army.
