Myron Eugene Mercer, 59, of Zanesville, died at 6:50 A.M. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born September 9, 1959, in Zanesville a son of the late Stanley Eugene and Mary Eleanor Ewing Mercer. Myron enjoyed his career as a truck driver and attending Barber School in his youth. He also enjoyed cruising on his blue Kawasaki 650. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and enjoyed playing games on his phone during his pastime. Myron was a faithful member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is survived by his wife, Gina Walcott Mercer, whom he married August 31, 1985; two children, Steven (Beth) Mercer of Zanesville and Brittany (Eric) McConnell of Whitehall; five grandchildren, Avri, Xander, Mikal, October and Riley; and a sister, Debbie Melvin of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rusty Melvin; a sister-in-law, Cathie Walcott and a nephew, Brian Grimes. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Loren Seibold officiating. He will be laid to rest at Iliff Cemetery, McLuney. He will be loved and missed as he makes his journey to a galaxy far, far away.
